Key West Marlin Tournament is on!

July 23-26, 2025

During the Annual Hemingway Days Celebration

[Key West, FL / May 1, 2025] The 44th Annual Key West Marlin Tournament, featuring $50,000 in cash prizes in the Marlin Division and additional payouts in the Fun Fish Division, will take place Wednesday, July 23 through Saturday, July 26, 2025, at The Perry Marina in Key West, Florida.

“As we celebrate our 44th year, excitement is building among anglers from Florida, Texas, Louisiana, and beyond,” said Tournament Chairman Tim Greene. “With a record-breaking payout last year of $268,000, we’re looking forward to continuing the momentum. The camaraderie on and off the water makes this tournament a unique and unforgettable experience. It’s a celebration for friends and families and a chance to create lifelong memories.”

This world-class tournament offers anglers of all skill levels the chance to compete for the thrill of landing the biggest catches on the famed “Wall,” a bucket-list experience for big game fishing enthusiasts.

Key West itself is a vibrant and welcoming destination that adds to the tournament’s appeal. Families and anglers gather not only for the fishing but also to enjoy the island’s rich culture, historic sites, and lively entertainment. From visiting the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum to exploring Duval Street or relaxing on scenic beaches, there’s something for everyone.

Tournament participants benefit from special discounts at select marinas, including a 10% fuel discount at The Perry Marina (formerly Stock Island Marina), and exclusive accommodation rates at the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hotel Grand Key – Key West. This waterfront resort offers premium comfort and easy access to tournament events. Details on these offers and marina options are available on the tournament website.

The event also features nightly festivities, including the Captain’s Dinner, a Pig Roast at El Siboney, dinner at Hogfish Bar & Grill, a silent auction, and an awards banquet at the DoubleTree Resort. The tournament kicks off with registration and a Captain’s Meeting on Wednesday evening, followed by three days of exciting fishing competition.

Entries are limited to the first 75 boats. Anglers are encouraged to register early at https://keywestmarlin.com/tournament-registration/ to secure their spot.

“Between Cuba and Key West was a big blue river called the Gulf Stream. That’s where I discovered blue marlin. All it took was the first marlin rising up out of the water like some silver-blue dream, gill plates rattling, jaws shaking the hook. But, I was the one who was hooked.” —Ernest Hemingway, 1931.

The Key West Marlin Tournament is held in conjunction with the annual Hemingway Days Celebration, July 23-27, which honors the island’s literary icon and angling legend, Ernest Hemingway.
