37th Annual Stock Island Marina Village – Key West Marlin Tournament Recap

The 2019, 37th annual, tournament was a success thanks to every sponsor, volunteer, boat, captain, and angler who accepted the Marlin challenge.

“This year’s action-packed event had multiple lead changes, several species of fish caught, including our beloved namesake marlin, fun-filled weigh-ins, exciting “fish stories” at the nightly dinners, and literally more than 10 boats vying for the top spot right down to the last hour,” said Tyler Hopf, Tournament Director.

The final results show just how competitive the participants were.

Ladies Division:

  1. Brittany Rodriquez      Boyle N Point        30.5 pts.
  2. Michelle Boyle      Boyle N Point      22 pts.
  3. Barbara Messer      Triple Time      20 pts.

Fun Fish Division Winners:

Mahi

  1. High Stakes      30.5 lb.      (based on time)
  2. Boyle N Point      30.5 lb.
  3. On Course IV      30.0 lb.

Wahoo –

  1. Linda D V      21.5 lb
  2. Reel Lucky      20.0 lb.      (based on time)
  3. Triple Time      20.0 lb.

Marlin Tournament –

  1. Blue Heron      417 pts      (landing Blue Marlin and 17 lb. Dolphin)
  2. On Course IV      48 pts      (landing 30-lb. Dolphin and 18 lb. Wahoo)
  3. OCD           46 pts      (landing 22-lb. Dolphin and 24 lb. Dolphin)
