2018 Key West Marlin Tournament – Day 2 Results

Day two of the 2018 Key West Marlin Tournament was action packed with 6 boats hooking up with billfish.  Maurice Gibson on the Cracker was the first angler of the day to release a blue marlin. Rob Volmer on the Paved For released the second marlin of the day to put them in first place when combined with the fun fish points they scored on day one.  Unfortunately, the other four billfish hook-ups were lost.  This left three boats in close running with each having one marlin release going into the third and final day of fishing.  The Helm picked up 19.2 points for a wahoo weighed-in and when combined with their sailfish release from day one put them at 69.2 points for the tournament.  A marlin release tomorrow could propel them into the first place position.  However, if the billfish action continues tomorrow any of the 36 boats could easily swoop in for a trophy and a portion of the $50,000 in cash prizes.  Stay tuned!
